Who We Are

The disciplined investment strategy of Investment Solutions for Life was developed by Brad Bower CFP TM who has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry.  After attending the United States Military Academy at West Point and serving in the United States Army, he began his career with a large Wall Street firm as a stock broker.

Little did he know that, as a broker, he would be solely judged and compensated, not by doing the right thing for his clients, but by selling them the highest commissioned investment products.  Uncomfortable with the incentive to sell rather than advise that is inherent in the brokerage industry, Bower soon decided this way of doing business was not for him.

Knowing there had to be a better way to serve his clients and invest their hard earned money, Bower co-founded Patriot Investment Management in 1993.  Patriot is now one of the largest "fee only" investment advisory firms in Knoxville, TN.  The mission and philosophy at Patriot has always been to do the right thing for its clients.

Over the past 20 years, Bower has observed that most individuals lack the qualities necessary to be successful investors.  To be a great investor requires patience, discipline, and optimism.  The ISL strategy incorporates the logic of using low cost, tax efficient index funds with a disciplined asset allocation strategy.  This approach - investing in index funds - is advocated by legendary investors such as John Bogle, Warren Buffett, Jane Bryant Quinn, Charlie Ellis, Burton Malkiel, and many more.  It is also backed by research done by several Nobel Laureates in Economics (William Sharpe, Daniel Kahneman, Merton Miller, and Paul Samuelson).  The concept of asset allocation has been proven through numerous academic and real world studies and is the foundation for Investment Solutions for Life.

The Investment Solutions for Life strategy is implemented by highly trained advisors who are registered with Patriot Investment Management - a "fee only" SEC registered investment advisory firm.
